Terms & Conditions
Camera rental services provided by KAMERALENDS
Version 2.0 — July 2026 · Governed by the laws of England and Wales
1. Who We Are
KAMERALENDS is a private limited company providing short-term digital camera rentals across the UK. You can contact us at kameralends@gmail.com. By making a booking, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
How our documents fit together. These Terms & Conditions should be read together with our Rental Agreement, Liability Terms, and Privacy Policy. If there is any conflict between them, the Rental Agreement takes precedence, followed by the Liability Terms, then these Terms & Conditions. Nothing in any of these documents removes or reduces your statutory rights (see Clause 9).
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or over to rent a camera from us. You must present valid photo ID matching the name on your booking at handover, and the name on the payment card must also match. Accepted forms of ID are a valid UK or international passport, a UK driving licence (full or provisional), or an EEA national identity card.
3. Bookings
Bookings are made through our website and are confirmed only when you receive a Booking Confirmation email containing your booking reference. Payment is taken at the time of booking, but a booking is not binding on us until we issue that confirmation. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion (for example, where identity verification is unsuccessful), in which case we will refund any payment in full. Cameras must be collected from the pickup point specified in your Booking Confirmation, at your chosen pick-up time.
4. Your Right to Cancel — Distance Sales
Because you book online, you normally have a statutory right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days of receiving your Booking Confirmation. How this works in practice depends on when your rental starts:
- If your rental starts after the 14-day period, you may cancel for any reason within 14 days and receive a full refund.
- If your rental starts within the 14-day period, you can ask us to begin the rental before the cancellation period ends. By choosing a pick-up date inside that window and proceeding with your booking, you request that early start and acknowledge that, once the rental has been fully performed (i.e. the rental period has ended), you will have lost the right to cancel. If you cancel after the rental has begun but before it has been fully performed, we may retain an amount proportionate to the service already supplied.
Outside of any statutory cancellation right, the following contractual cancellation terms apply to changes of mind:
| Notice given before pick-up | Refund |
|---|---|
| 48 hours or more | Full refund |
| 24 to 48 hours | 50% refund |
| Less than 24 hours | No refund |
Cancellations must be made via the cancellation page on our website or by emailing kameralends@gmail.com. We reserve the right to cancel a booking before handover, in which case you receive a full refund. Nothing in this Clause affects any non-excludable statutory cancellation right you may have.
5. Damage, Loss, and Liability
You are responsible for the camera during your Rental Period. Any damage, loss, or non-return may result in charges, up to the value of the camera, as set out in detail in our Liability Terms and Rental Agreement. By booking, you authorise us to charge the payment method stored by Stripe for amounts that reflect the actual cost we incur, in accordance with those documents. We will always notify you, with a breakdown and evidence, before or at the time of any such charge.
6. Equipment Faults
If the equipment develops a fault through no fault of yours, contact us as soon as reasonably practicable. We will, at our discretion and subject to availability, offer a replacement camera, a full refund of the rental fee, or a credit toward a future booking. This does not affect your statutory rights.
7. Our Liability to You
We are responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by us. We are not liable for loss that is not foreseeable, or for loss of photographs or data stored on the equipment (please transfer your data before returning it). Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
9. Your Statutory Rights
As a consumer, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other consumer-protection law, including the right to services carried out with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms or any related document affects those rights. Where any term is found to be inconsistent with your statutory rights, your statutory rights prevail.
10. Complaints
If something goes wrong, please contact us first at kameralends@gmail.com — we aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them quickly. We do not currently subscribe to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme. If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, you may refer the matter to small-claims mediation or the small-claims court.
